This book is the seventh installment in the adventures of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser. Like the other books, it is an enormously enjoyable read. But even so, it doesn’t feel complete in the way that the other books do. It lacks the same degree of connectedness that the other books seem to have. For that reason, I would rate it as the weakest of the Fafhrd and Gray Mouser collection. With that said, it’s still better than most of the Swords and Sorcery/Fantasy out there and probably worth your time.
